A Brief OverviewThe Chemical Receiver is responsible for the accurate and efficient receipt, documentation, and organization of incoming chemicals and materials. This role supports warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, proper handling of hazardous materials, and maintaining a well‑organized receiving area. The Chemical Receiver also assists with inventory management and contributes to a safe and efficient work environment.
What you will do- Verify and document incoming shipments of chemicals and materials. Inspect deliveries for accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards. Enter receipt information into inventory management systems and generate pallet or labels as required.
- Maintain organized files and records for all receiving-related documentation. Research and resolve discrepancies or issues with shipments. Check in small package deliveries (e.g., UPS, Fed Ex) and catalog them appropriately.
- Facilitate the movement, placement, and staging of received materials. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and stretch wrappers when needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring compliance with safety and GMP standards. Adhere to all company policies, including safety protocols, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Train other employees in receiving processes as needed.
- Ensure proper labeling and segregation of hazardous chemicals in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Coordinate with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) teams to maintain proper chemical storage. Acquire raw samples from incoming raw materials
- Work closely with purchasing and production teams to confirm the availability of required materials. Notify relevant departments of delays or discrepancies that could impact production schedules.
- Perform basic maintenance or troubleshooting on material handling equipment to ensure reliability. Report any malfunctions or safety concerns related to equipment.
- Support audits by providing accurate and up‑to‑date receiving documentation.
- Participate in spill response or emergency drills related to chemical handling. Act as a point of contact during receiving‑related emergencies.
- Identify opportunities to improve receiving processes or reduce errors. Suggest enhancements to workflows that increase efficiency or safety.
