Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Full Time
Location:
Gainesville, GA. Seeking 2–3 CNAs for Hall, Dawson, Lumpkin, and Forsyth areas.
To increase the level of comfort for hospice patients and provide temporary relief to families by delivering personal care services.
Key Responsibilities- Commitment to the hospice concept and standards.
- Interact with diverse age groups.
- Work well independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing with individuals and groups.
- Handle confidential matters.
- Work a flexible schedule.
- Provide patient care services in accordance with policies, procedures, and the CNA/PCA care plan.
- Assist with personal hygiene aspects of care, including bathing, oral hygiene, skin care, and hair care.
- Assist with transfers (e.g., bed to chair, bed to commode).
- Assist with ambulation and exercise as ordered.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding tasks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the patient.
- Recognize the emotional status of the patient and understand associated emotional problems.
- Coordinate care with the primary nurse and Director of Health Services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date visit records.
- Provide care related to turning, positioning, observations, and skin integrity impairment.
- Attend regular interdisciplinary team meetings and participate in care plan development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Report patient progress, problems, and procedural issues to supervisory personnel and handle medical emergencies per the service plan.
- Deliver optimal, dignified care to patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Hospice Services (DHS) or Administrator.
- Maturity and ability to manage job demands.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Empathetic attitude toward caring for the terminally ill and families.
- Understanding and commitment to the mission of Pruitt Health Hospice.
- Listening skills.
- Documentation skills in accordance with agency policy, procedures, and the CNA/PCA care plan.
- Orientation to hospice care and readiness to complete necessary training.
- Participation in agency surveys and related reports.
- Participation in continuing education to remain current with field changes and maintain required license/certification.
- Participation in mandatory in‑services.
- Respect for patients’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self‑determination, privacy, and civil rights.
- Compliance with corporate compliance programs.
- Reporting of occupational hazards, such as exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Adherence to safety regulations (fire protection, smoking, infection control).
- Adherence to safety procedures when performing tasks or using equipment.
- Perform other related duties as necessary and directed by supervision.
- Active, current, unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of practice.
