Northeast Georgia Rehabilitation Institute in Gainesville, GA seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver specialized inpatient rehab care for patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, orthopedic surgery, and complex medical conditions. The RN completes comprehensive assessments, develops and updates care plans, administers medications, and monitors patient progress toward functional goals. Responsibilities include coordinating with therapists and physicians, educating patients and families, supporting safe discharge planning, and contributing to continuous quality improvement.

- Provide comprehensive inpatient rehab nursing care to patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopedic conditions, and complex medical illnesses.
- Perform holistic assessments, develop and update individualized nursing care plans, and track progress toward functional goals.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely while monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Collaborate closely with physical, occupational, and speech therapists, physicians, and case managers to coordinate interdisciplinary care.
- Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, safety, and home care to support successful transition after discharge.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in discharge planning, ensuring necessary equipment, services, and teaching are in place for safe return home.
- Monitor skin integrity, manage wounds, and implement fall and safety precautions in accordance with rehab protocols.
- Contribute to quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and best-practice initiatives within the rehabilitation unit.
- Support a compassionate, patient-centered culture and mentor newer staff or students as needed.
