As the Safety Coordinator, you'll serve as a trusted resource for employees and leaders while championing workplace safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct daily safety inspections and facility walkthroughs to identify hazards and ensure compliance
- Partner with supervisors and managers to improve safety performance and employee engagement
- Lead safety training programs, orientations, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns
- Investigate workplace incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Analyze incident trends, near misses, and safety data to proactively reduce risk
- Maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, training records, and compliance documentation
- Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate communication with employees and carriers
- Perform safety audits, inspections, and behavioral observations
- Support compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Communicate safety updates and best practices throughout the organization
- Administer and track safety-related programs, including PPE, safety equipment, and employee wellness initiatives
- Provide first aid support and coordinate medical treatment when necessary
- Collaborate with HR on employee programs, access control, timekeeping systems, and special projects
- Foster a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- 3+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Human Resources, Business, or related field
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Experience managing workers' compensation claims and safety reporting metrics
