Eligibility
:
Must be eligible to work in the United States on or before the confirmed start date. Eligible: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or foreign national with work authorization that does not require employer sponsorship.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of law enforcement or security experience preferred.
- Post‑Certified security certification highly preferred.
- Patrol the university campus by foot, golf cart, or patrol unit. Walkways, parking lots, and buildings may be covered.
- Operate security equipment such as alarms and control panels to monitor campus. Ensure safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Respond to reports of incidents, including suspicious activity or violations. Contact police or other authorities as needed.
- Enforce campus rules and regulations, including parking, smoking, alcohol, and drug use. Issue warnings, citations, and request towing.
- Direct traffic and manage parking areas.
- Provide crowd control and other security services for special events.
- Act as liaison between the university and local law enforcement.
- Perform custodial and maintenance duties, provide information and directions, and maintain records.
No supervisory responsibilities required.
Work Hours40 hours per week. Shifts include Saturday/Sunday 7 pm to 7 am and Monday/Friday 11 pm to 7 am. Hours may be extended to meet departmental needs.
Environmental & Physical DemandsExtensive walking, frequent lifting up to 30 lb, occasional lifting up to 100 lb, frequent carrying of heavy items up to 30 lb, occasional carrying up to 100 lb, pushing/pulling up to 100 lb. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, turning, twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, grasping, etc. Ability to work in inclement and extreme weather conditions. Must be able to operate and drive a motor vehicle.
