The Security Resource Specialist will be the first contact of visitors entering Northeast Georgia Medical Center. They will identify visitors through photographic state identification cards (including drivers licenses), issue adhesive passes and direct visitors to affix the pass on their outermost garment. The role directs visitors to locations within NGMC and allows access into both secure and non-secure areas. The Specialist acts as an information gatherer and reports directly to the Security Supervisor any violations of criminal law, NGHS policies, or breaches of security within their assigned post.
MinimumJob Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Background in customer services and/or reception
- Law enforcement, corrections, or security background and/or at least 2 years assisting sworn personnel with non-sworn municipal law enforcement duties
- Basic CPR (preferred)

- Serves as the first contact for visitors entering Northeast Georgia Medical Center or an assigned NGHS facility at an assigned post.
- Identifies and documents visitors using photographic state identification cards.
- Issues adhesive passes and directs visitors to affix the pass on their outermost garment.
- Directs visitors to locations within NGMC and grants access to secure and non‑secure areas as appropriate.
- Acts as surveillance and observer/reporter within high traffic areas; reports violations of criminal law, NGHS policies, or breaches of security to the Security Supervisor.
- Serves as a customer service professional; answers information inquiries and provides direction in accordance with NGHS Core Values.
- Maintains a highly professional attitude and engages professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Answers incoming telephone calls to the assigned department.
- Assists with organizing and filing patient charts.
