About the Role:
Job Summary Under the direction of the Security Services Manager, establishes NGMC Braselton Hospital security and property protection programs. Directs and maintains programs on site and through subordinate supervisors. Interviews applicants, recommends hiring and directs the training of all security personnel. Oversees day to day security operations, scheduling and regularly re-assesses the facility and security needs of Braselton campus. Manages security reporting systems, alarm/access control systems and security equipment.
Maintains oversight on the Security Department budget.
Minimum Job Qualifications Licensure or other certifications:
Valid GA Drivers License Current BLS Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Educational Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent with at least five (5) years experience or Bachelors Degree.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years as a security officer or police officer. Knowledge of budget management.

Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of various hospital security programs (physical security/access control, patrols, investigations, emergency response and reporting standards
Must possess intermediate computer skills and be familiar with all MS Office Suite applications
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to properly conduct security surveys, interviews and establish programs to meet the needs.
Must possess the ability to learn the laws of liability and work in conjunction with hospital leadership, staff and risk management to reduce cost in liability issues, identify threats/hazards and develop mitigation strategies
Possesses the ability to interpret OSHA, NFPA, CMS and DNV and all applicable laws and regulations related to security in order to formulate and implement policies to conform to each Managing the aggressive patient (CIT):
De-escalation Training ASP Tactical Baton Training Firearms Training Hospital Defensive Tactics Training Basic Taser Training Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Assists the Director/Manager of Security in establishing and maintaining procedures along with fiscal planning for the activities of the department. Assists with establishing and maintaining budget items, including operational; staffing levels, including special events and details. Assists with general duties, special instructions, incidents surrounding confrontational situations and improved customer service.
Identifies each patient’s age specific needs and promotes a secure environment needed by the group. Confers with representatives of management to formulate procedures for handling special situations. Informs the manager or director regarding circumstances or situations which have or may have serious impact on the hospital.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Planning, assigning and directing work. Shift scheduling. Addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervising staff including:
Interviewing, making recommendations for hiring and the training of all personnel, appraises performance by rewarding and disciplining personnel.
Assesses needs, develops, implements and coordinates a security management plan; which assures that the hospital meets OSHA, NFPA, CMS, DNV, federal, state and local regulations and standards as related to security. Performs and directs safety and security rounds of the hospital, grounds and outlying buildings. Is able to utilize Electronic surveillance, alarms and CCTV systems.
