About the RolePrepares surfaces throughout the organization for application of paint or wallpaper in order to maintain an attractive appearance, also performs a wide range of projects relating to finishes and drywall repairs.

Skills and Abilities
Has knowledge of Painting, sheet vinyl, wallpaper application, plastering and patching.
Possess knowledge of all types of finishes. Properly matches paint colors with no deviation from Medical Center's finish specification. Uses correct type of paint for each application, providing a durable, long-lasting finish.
Uses sealer and stains according to hospital standards. Able to make carpet and VCT repairs as needed.
Prepares surfaces appropriately for final application of finish material. Uses appropriate techniques for smoothing surfaces in preparation for finish. Makes necessary repairs to surfaces rendering them unnoticeable. Makes a quick patch to repair walls quickly. Identifies and repairs two hour fire walls and one hour smoke walls.
Uses time effectively; responds appropriately to special assignments and emergency requests. Carries out special assignments and emergency requests in an efficient and effective manner. Able to plan out work a day ahead and work without constant supervision on various job throughout Medical Center.
Appropriately assesses the equipment and materials needed to complete assignments.
Arrives on the job site with proper tools and materials.
Brief Supervisor on current projects and necessary follow-up to complete the job. Fills out work orders properly and in a timely manner as set by the Supervisor.Completes the job and leaves the area in a condition appropriate for occupancy and use by removing all construction materials from the job site, notifying supervisor when job is complete and keeping work area and shop clean reporting any safety problems.
Correctly utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment and takes proper care of issued protective equipment.
