Position InformationThe Warehouse Assistant supports the daily functions of the warehouse by performing receiving, stocking, inventory handling, and order preparation tasks. This role ensures accurate movement of parts and materials and provides dependable support to warehouse leadership and parts drivers. The Warehouse Assistant may serve as a back-up parts delivery driver when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and document incoming parts and materials
- Stock inventory in assigned locations and maintain organized storage areas
- Pull, stage, and prepare orders for internal departments and external customers
- Assist with routine cycle counts and inventory accuracy
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, safety, and organization
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as trained
- Support parts drivers with loading, staging, and route preparation
- Serve as back‑up parts delivery driver when required
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to customers, vendors, and internal teams
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company standards
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certification
- Basic computer skills; ability to learn inventory systems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Professional appearance and customer‑service mindset
- Prior warehouse or parts handling experience preferred
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs multiple times per day
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods
- Occasional driving of a company vehicle for 6–8 hour shifts when filling in as a parts driver
- Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and various materials
- Operation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment as trained
