You’ll be part of a team of 8–10 Transportation Supervisors overseeing 190–220 drivers in a high-volume distribution center. Your leadership ensures safe, efficient, and timely deliveries while maintaining DOT compliance, driver performance, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do- Supervise drivers: staffing, training, coaching, performance management, problem resolution
- Ride along with drivers for training, evaluation, and safety reinforcement
- Ensure timely deliveries and pickups; assist with scheduling
- Support Transportation/Operations Manager with daily administration
- Driver payroll
- Trip log reviews
- Expense reports
- DOT compliance
- Monitor vehicle safety, ramp usage, lifting practices, and product-handling standards
- Track driver data: license status, tickets, accidents, safety metrics
- Ensure accurate completion of all driver paperwork (invoices, receipts, DVIRs, DOT logs, etc.)
- Review post-trip inspections and ensure proper truck/trailer maintenance
- Work with Transportation Manager/Warehouse Manager to optimize routing and minimize expenses
- Operate computerized fleet management systems (Samsara, Xata, Roadnet)
- Cover routes when needed
- Perform other duties to best serve the company
- High School Diploma/GED (Associate degree a plus)
- 4+ years
transportation experience in the distribution, or trucking industry working with a private fleet (food distribution a plus) - 2+ years
transportation supervisory experience - Strong knowledge of DOT and safety regulations
- Experience with fleet management systems (Samsara, Xata, Roadnet)
- Class A CDL preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Must be local to the Atlanta Metro area — ideally the Northern suburbs
