- Full ownership of the transportation function in a high‑volume, customer‑focused DC
- Leadership of 8–10 Transportation Supervisors, 190–220 drivers
, and a team of Routers - Driver selection, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and safety compliance
- DOT and OSHA compliance oversight
- Routing optimization to maximize customer satisfaction and route profitability
- Fleet maintenance, equipment scheduling, and rental coordination
- Daily delivery scheduling, backhaul planning, and route adjustments
- Monitoring and maintaining computerized fleet management systems (Road Net, XATA, Tripmaster)
- Annual transportation budget preparation and cost analysis (fuel, leases, equipment)
- Close partnership with the Warehouse Manager to maximize operational efficiency
This is a role where your leadership directly impacts service levels, safety performance, driver engagement, and customer satisfaction.
What You Bring- High School Diploma/GED required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree a big plus)
- 4+ years of transportation experience with strong DOT knowledge
- Preferably from food distribution: broadline, wholesale, retail, or food service
- 2+ years as a Transportation Manager
- Experience developing staffing models and forecasting labor
- Strong KPI and productivity analysis skills
- Budget management experience
- Proactive leadership style — not reactive
- Strong service ethic and customer‑first mindset
- Experience with computerized fleet systems (Samsara, Road Net, XATA, etc.)
- Class A CDL preferred
