Senior Accountant, Gainesville, TX

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant for a Company based in Gainesville, TX. This role is responsible for managing a wide range of general accounting functions including monthly close, reconciliations, billing, and financial analysis to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in a small to mid-sized company, with a solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and all core accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.

• Record daily cash transactions and movement of funds across accounts
• Prepare and distribute monthly billing statements to customers
• Complete monthly cash and general ledger reconciliations for multiple entities
• Execute the month-end close process, including journal entries, financial reporting, and account analysis
• Investigate and explain variances between actual results and budget expectations
• Support the annual budget process and assist with forecast updates
• Help prepare audit schedules and year-end documentation for external tax and audit partners
• Review and support annual 1099 processing and compliance
• Handle ad hoc projects and provide administrative support to the finance department as needed
• Collaborate with accounts payable team, providing oversight and guidance

• Minimum of five years of accounting experience, preferably in a small or mid-sized business
• Proficiency in GAAP and solid working knowledge of general accounting functions
• Comfortable managing accounting for multiple entities concurrently
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with experience handling complex general ledger accounts
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with all levels of the organization
• Experience supporting audits and assisting with tax and 1099 reporting
