Job Summary
Ranch Hand Rescue is seeking a work‑study student to serve as an administrative assistant intern to help support with duties including organizing meetings for administrators, helping with presentations, composing documents, and preparing packets for the sales team.
Responsibilities- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
- Schedule and coordinate meetings
- Assist the Director of Development with planning and execution of fundraising events, including social media promotion
- Prepare communications such as memos, emails, invoices, reports, and other correspondence
- Write and edit communications, from letters to reports and instructional documents
- Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical
- Make phone cold and warm calls to potential sponsors and donors
Part time, up to 19 hours per week. Hours may be flexible during the workweek and based on department need.
Required EducationHigh School Diploma or GED
Required Skills & Abilities- Decision‑making: may need to make independent decisions on a daily basis, addressing the best way to handle specific tasks.
- Communications and collaboration: must collaborate with other team members, support personnel, management and donors on a regular basis.
- Organizational skills: ability to assist the Director of Business Development with scheduling, site tours and presentations.
- Writing: the student will need to write professionally, using proper spelling and grammar, for emails, letters, documents and social media posts that reflect on Ranch Hands Rescue and Bob's House of Hop.
Must be people oriented and able to multitask. Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience- Must be able to type at least 45 wpm
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekend events, if needed not to exceed 19 hours a week.
- Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.
