General jobduties of an Automotive Service Technician are (this is notan all-inclusive list):
- Review and follow computerized automotive repair orders
- Able to perform an inspection of the vehiclesbasic functions and identify items thatmay need attention.
- Perform tire pressure checks, oilchanges, tire rotations, replace fuel filters,air filters and cabin filters,etc.
- Communicate services, estimates and recommended repairs demonstrating exceptional service to customers.
- Ensure the customer's vehicle is keptclean.
- Keep the shop area neat andclean.
- Make certain all equipment is in proper working order.
- Operate tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Complete all required training in the allotted time frame.
- Pursue technical knowledge on an ongoing basis as automotive technologychanges
- Comply with all laws and regulationsabout hazardous materials.
- Understand federal, state and local regulations,including hazardous waste disposal, OSHARight-to-Know, etc.
General requirements ofan Automotive Service Technician are (this is not an all-inclusive list):
- Abilityto read, interpret, write andspeak technical documents in English. Hablo Espanol es unaventaja!
- Valid driver's license
- Be able to maintain an organized neat and safe workarea
- Possess a high level of motivation, energy and customer focused attitude
- Be reliable and able to work a flexible schedule depending on business needs
- Be able tostand on concrete or metal surfaces for extended periods of time
- Be able towork in an environment that frequentlyexperiences extreme hot and cold temperatures,loud noises and exhaust fumes.
- Be able tolift and move inventory items, trash cansand other work-related items (up to50lbs.)
- Be able towork at a rapid pace for long periods oftime.
- Be able to push, pull, pull-up,bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist,raise and hold arms overhead, turn head/neck/shouldersas needed, grasp and hold tools and other itemswith hands - all for extended periods of timeand/or many times throughout the workshift.
