Job Summary
This position carries the responsibility to uphold the Mission of North Central Texas College, engaging in positive interpersonal behaviors, professional communication, integrity, leadership, stewardship, respect, and accountability toward students and employees. The teaching faculty provides learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course and program objectives, contributing to the overall educational environment of the college and community, including academic advising and committee participation.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Treat students and colleagues with respect.
- Actively participate in institutional effectiveness, including student learning outcomes and program level outcomes.
- Focus teaching and outreach efforts on student success.
- Follow departmental policy for class cancellations.
- Start and end classes consistently on time.
- Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance, submitting required reports on time.
- Post office hours and be available to students during that time.
- Provide a syllabus to students and the Division Chair in a timely manner.
- Be well organized and prepared for each class.
- Maintain college-level rigor and hold students to a high standard of academic excellence.
- Use a variety of instructional methods to enhance learning.
- Develop appropriate tests, projects, and other evaluation activities for courses taught.
- Use Student Course Evaluations to improve instruction.
- Communicate effectively and timely with students.
- Provide appropriate feedback on student assignments.
- Encourage an environment where students can ask questions and express ideas.
- Other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change based on departmental and institutional needs.
Associate degree or higher. Five (5) or more years of full‑time HVACR industry experience may satisfy the education requirement.
Required Skills & Abilities- Communicate well with students, conveying the skills needed for entry‑level HVACR technicians.
- Proficiency in residential and commercial HVAC installation and repair.
- Experience with refrigeration systems and repair.
- Work well in a team, be a self‑starter, and accommodate a flexible schedule.
- Travel will be required to various locations.

Required ExperienceThree (3) years of HVAC industry experience, including installations, service, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment, duct system design, heat‑load calculations, and building science.

LocationGainesville Campus, Texas or Oklahoma (residence required). Travel between various locations is expected.
Pay Rate$680 per semester hour (3 semester hour course = $2,040).
