Adjunct Professor- Horticulture

Job Summary

This position carries the responsibility of upholding the mission of North Central Texas College by providing learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course and program objectives. The incumbent will contribute to the educational environment of the college and community through teaching, academic advising, committee participation, professional development, and other service support.

• Teach horticulture-related courses and laboratories at scheduled times, utilizing online, face‑to‑face, and hands‑on approaches.
• Design curriculum that encompasses course learning outcomes.
• Provide quality hands‑on experience and training for students entering the horticulture field.
• Perform additional duties as assigned; responsibilities may evolve based on departmental and institutional needs.

Associate degree in horticulture and at least three years of work experience, or a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent advanced degree in the discipline.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Exhibit respect and professionalism in a collegial spirit.
• Promote an effective learning environment in lecture and laboratory settings.

Knowledge of online delivery methods, principles, and techniques.

Verifiable work experience in the horticulture industry; online teaching experience preferred.
