Salary based on credentialing. Classes scheduled depending on enrollment. May have to travel between campuses. Subject to criminal background check. Employees must reside in Texas or Oklahoma.

Job SummaryThe purpose of this position is teaching, supervising, and evaluating NCTC Medical Billing and Coding students in classroom and laboratory settings. This adjunct position is up to 19 hours per week including 2 hours on campus for regular office hours. The faculty member upholds the Mission of North Central Texas College and demonstrates professional communication, integrity, leadership, stewardship, respect, and accountability.
Responsibilities& Duties
- Teach, supervise, and evaluate students in classroom and laboratory settings.
- Treat students and colleagues with respect.
- Actively involve in institutional effectiveness initiatives such as student learning outcomes, program-level outcomes, and marketable skill achievement.
- Focus on teaching and outreach efforts to support student success.
- Keep the Chair of Allied Health, Continuing Education, and Lead Faculty informed; collaborate on course loads and teaching assignments; observe student skill demonstrations.
- Track, grade, and submit student grades in a timely manner; instruct, critique, and evaluate students’ classroom and laboratory performance.
- Attend faculty level meetings, college-sponsored professional development events; communicate with students and provide timely feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change based on department and institutional needs.
Must be Certified (CBCS, CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, AAPC, or RHIT). Preference for CBCS, CPC, or other recognized credentials.
Required Skills & Abilities- Excellent customer service, organizational, and motivational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exhibit respect and professionalism in a collegial environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canvas LMS.
- Ability to promote an effective learning environment in lecture experiences.
Must have coding experience within the last 3 years. Online teaching experience is a plus.
