Job Summary
North Central Texas College is seeking adjunct instructors to teach college courses in the Business Management curriculum. The position involves upholding the mission of the college, fostering positive interpersonal behaviors, professional communication, integrity, leadership, stewardship, respect, and accountability to students and staff. Faculty are responsible for providing learning activities and support that facilitate course and program objectives, contributing to the overall educational environment, and offering related services such as academic advising, committee participation, professional development, and community development as needed.
CompensationPay rate – $680 per load unit (or credit hour).
Responsibilities and Duties- Plan and teach undergraduate courses in business management, staying current with the business climate and enhancing courses appropriately.
- Collaborate with the business department advisory council at annual meetings and maintain regular communication to stay informed of industry job demands.
- Treat students and colleagues with respect.
- Actively participate in institutional effectiveness initiatives, including student learning outcomes, program-level outcomes, and marketable skill achievement.
- Focus teaching and outreach efforts on student success.
- Maintain accurate and complete course records as required by North Central Texas College.
- Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating assigned courses.
- Work effectively within a group or independently; remain student-oriented and meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change based on departmental and institutional needs.
Final candidates will be required to present a 15‑minute teaching segment on a business topic of their choice during the interview process.
Required EducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, or an Associate degree with at least three years of documented business experience.
Required Skills & Abilities- Ability to teach in-person.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated respect and professionalism in a collegial environment.
- Ability to create an effective learning environment in lecture and laboratory settings.
- Ability to use a variety of teaching methods.
- Knowledge of online delivery methods and course development.
Higher education teaching experience preferred. Experience with online teaching is preferred.
Required ExperienceThree years of documented industry experience.
Preferred ExperienceHigher education teaching experience. Experience with online teaching.
