Pay rate – $680/load unit (or credit hour).

Final candidates will be required to present a 15-minute teaching segment on the business topic of their choice.

Job Summary

North Central Texas College is seeking adjunct instructors to teach college courses in Business Management curriculum.

This position carries with it the obligation to uphold the Mission of North Central Texas College in carrying out the duties of the position. A commitment while embracing positive interpersonal behaviors, professional communication, integrity, leadership, stewardship, respect and accountability to our students and employees.

It is the responsibility of the teaching faculty to provide learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of course and program objectives and to contribute to the overall educational environment of the college and community and to provide related services such as academic advising, committee participation, professional development, community development as well as other service support that is needed in the fulfillment of the North Central Texas College’s Mission.

Responsibilities

and Duties
  • Planning and teaching undergraduate courses in business  aware of the current business climate and enhance courses appropriately.
  • Work with business department advisory council annual meetings and regular communication in order to maintain a current awareness of job demands in industry.
  • Treating students and colleagues with respect.
  • Active involvement in issues of institutional effectiveness including student learning outcomes, program level outcomes, and marketable skill achievement.
  • Focusing teaching and outreach efforts on student success.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete course records as required by North Central Texas College.
  • Participating in planning, implementing and evaluating assigned courses.
  • Working effectively within a group or independently; student oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.
Required Education

Bachelor or Masters degree in Business Administration or an Associate degree with three years of documented business experience.

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to teach in-person required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Exhibition of respect and professionalism in a spirit of collegiality.
  • Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture and lab experiences.
  • Ability to teach students using a variety of teaching methods.
  • Knowledge of online delivery methods and course development.
Preferred Skills & Abilities Required Experience

Three years documented industry experience

Preferred Experience

Higher education teaching experience preferred. Experience with online teaching preferred.
