Objective:
Within the manufacturing engineer job description, there are 2 separate job functions. Typically an employee will perform one or the other, not both and under close supervision. Both functions are described within.
The Industrialization Leader is responsible for the technical review and preparation of new products, ensuring they reach the production phase on time and of good quality. They support manufacturing and processes to lead the successful industrialization of new products, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality adherence. They collaborate with cross‑functional teams to bring products from conception through to first article validation and to the production phase.
They work under close supervision and with the support of their team.
Work closely with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering to design and implement process and equipment layouts and improvements. Support Operations through technical support, product design, quality standards and process improvement. Must have strong technical skills in engineering (design and industrialization), knowledge about quality management like root cause analysis or statistical process control. Must have strong inter‑personal skills and be highly energetic. This position works under general supervision.
EssentialFunctions (Duties and Responsibilities)

Industrialization Leader 2- Manage the technical development of a product from conception to production
- Utilize core tools such as PFMEA, DFMA, control plans, etc.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, tooling and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes. May develop new tools as needed.
- Review and approve or reject engineering drawings in accordance with internal DFM guidelines and requirements. Propose changes and updates to DFM guidelines.
- Create and maintain detailed work instructions
- Ensure design and process are sufficient to produce the quality of product required by internal and external standards. Support related improvements and projects.
- Support production areas, fabrication and final assembly, when new product is being launched to quickly address and correct and issues that may arise. Process Improvement
- Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations
- Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost‑effectiveness
- Design layout of equipment or work spaces to achieve maximum efficiency
- Manage tool control on the line. Order and register new tools if needed
- Lead cross‑functional projects of medium impact or complexity and assist with projects with higher caliber.
- B.S degree in a related technical field (e.g.:
Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer/Technology, Aeronautics Engineer, or Electrical Engineer) or an Associate degree with 6 years related experience or 12 years of job related experience
- Three years of manufacturing experience required in a Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer or related Engineering capacity
- Six Sigma or Lean certification preferred
- Catia V.5 or design modeling a plus
- Must have basic knowledge of production methods, process capabilities, tooling processes, and manufacturing processes
