Overview

Trident is seeking a Design Engineer to support the design and execution of custom‑engineered pressure vessels, separators, treaters, production equipment, and modular process packages for the oil and gas industry. This role works closely with sales, project management, manufacturing, quality, and customers to develop practical, code‑compliant designs that support efficient fabrication and on‑time project execution. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical design capability with hands‑on fabrication knowledge and a practical understanding of ASME code requirements, manufacturing constraints, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop 3D models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation for pressure vessels, separators, treaters, heater treaters, skids, piping systems, and structural assemblies.
  • Review customer RFQs, datasheets, specifications, P&IDs, and general arrangements to establish design requirements.
  • Utilize software such as Solid Works, AutoCAD, Compress, or equivalent design tools.
  • Provide technical support to fabrication, quality control, welding, NDE, hydrotest, coating, and final assembly teams.
  • Review fabrication issues, field changes, customer comments, etc., and implement engineering revisions as needed.
  • Support customer design reviews, technical clarification meetings, and inspection activities.
  • Coordinate with authorized inspectors and quality personnel to support ASME code documentation and turnover packages.
  • Maintain engineering standards, drawing templates, and revision control processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on design efficiency, standardization, and manufacturability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in pressure vessel, process equipment, or oil & gas fabrication design preferred.
  • Proficiency with:
    Solid Works (preferred), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret: P&IDs, process datasheets, customer specifications.
