Dura-Line is hiring for a Shipping Manager in Gainesville, TX!

About the Role: The Shipping Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the shipping department for at least one plant and maybe another or offsite warehouse location, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. The Shipping Manager will organize and oversee a team of employees, ensure that products are properly packaged and shipped for deliveries. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to effectively coordinate with other departments to streamline shipping processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the shipping process from order fulfillment through delivery, ensuring shipments are timely, accurate, and cost-effective.

  • Train, qualify, and manage employee performance, including skills observations and safety observations.

  • Develop shipping strategies and procedures to optimize effectiveness, meet customer expectations, and reduce costs and errors.

  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, customer service, and production to align shipping activities with business needs.

  • Manage carrier relationships, rates, service levels, and performance.

  • Monitor shipping KPIs and implement improvements to drive productivity, labor utilization, on-time delivery, customer complaint reduction, TRIR, and OSHA recordable performance.

  • Maintain accurate shipping records, invoices, bills of lading, customs documentation, and reports.

  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, customs requirements, and trade laws.

  • Participate in cycle counts, work-in-process counts, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement/5S activities.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in shipping, warehousing, and inventory, including at least 3 years in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with shipping, purchasing, projects, and requisitions.

  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, distribution, logistics, and delivery tracking processes.

  • Strong organization, problem-solving, leadership, and employee performance management skills.

  • Knowledge of safety practices, OSHA requirements, and safe material handling practices.

  • ERP/SAP experience preferred.

  • Material handling certification preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Work is performed in plant, warehouse, forklift, and office environments.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • May be exposed to weather conditions, noise, and operational equipment; required PPE must be worn as designated.

Our Offer

The compensation for this position is typically range from $84,000-$155,500 annually.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short and long‑term incentive compensation. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare coverage, USA 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid company holidays, paid vacation time, paid sick time, parental leave, short‑and long‑term disability leave, education reimbursement, and an employee assistance program.
