Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Restorative Aide position is to assist in the provision of restorative and/or rehabilitative care to patients as appropriate, and to assist in the provision of regular patient care as may be directed.

Qualifications
  • State certification as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Essential Functions
  • Provide personal care to patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort. Assist in the provision of restorative or rehabilitative care.
  • Perform restorative nursing tasks such as ambulation, range of motion, positioning, self-feeding, etc., within the scope of individuals' training.
  • Promote and support the greatest possible degree of independence for patients.
  • Advise Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) of patient status daily.
  • Contribute knowledge of patient conditions/needs to patient care plans.
  • Assist in the implementation of care plans as directed within the parameters of established policy and procedure.
  • Observe and report on patients' conditions and document observations as required.
  • Promote a safe and clean environment.
  • Comply with requirements of procedures for safe lifting and/or safe transfer of patients per established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of therapy area and equipment.
  • Assure that equipment is clean and functional.
  • Attend in-service training programs.
  • Attend monthly Quality Assurance Meetings.
  • Be responsible for monthly and weekly weights.
  • Attend weekly rehab meetings.
  • Function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
  • Review Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and enforce it.
  • Attend weekly in-services, understand, and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
  • Assure patient/resident safety.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
