OVERVIEW

Supervises, schedules, assigns, and monitors the daily activities of the Stores department to ensure a high level of customer service. Maintains adequate and accurate inventory levels to meet construction demands through planning, projecting, coordinating, and scheduling materials through Purchasing using information from NOVEC's Engineering and Construction Departments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional/Operational
  • Analyzes inventory usage and projects quantities needed using NISC Reports, Hand Held Application Program (HAPP) reports, Power BI Reports, and meetings with Engineering.
  • Reviews vendor reports weekly to identify the need to expedite or delay delivery of materials and communicates requirements to vendor representative.
  • Maintains accurate inventory through review of material transactions and cycle counts. Researches and corrects discrepancies using the appropriate work request numbers.
  • Submits electronic material order requests to NOVEC Purchasing for material necessary to meet construction schedule demands.
  • Coordinates staging, pick up, and jobsite delivery of construction material for upcoming jobs with Contractors and Engineering and Construction Departments.
  • Coordinates delivery and unloading of special construction and substation project materials at appropriate location with necessary NOVEC or contractor personnel.
  • Maintains list of advance allocation requests from Distribution Engineering for 3 phase pad mount transformers to be utilized in projecting and requesting the ordering of transformers as needed.
  • Verifies accuracy of construction units and Pick Lists for work requests entered into NISC by Engineering. Notifies engineering of any discrepancies to assure accurate material pick lists.
  • Provides information and assistance to NOVEC Construction Administrative Assistants and Business Services and Contracts Supervisor in the investigation and correction of work request closing failures due to material problems.
  • Works continually towards self-development to stay current on logistics, supply chain management, and supervisory procedures and practices.
Strategic/Supervisory
  • Establishes and maintains systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the Company’s value.
  • Optimizes the production capacity of the Store’s staff to improve work efficiency and staff skill base within the department.
  • Provides leadership within the department to ensure required human resource administration-staffing, training, coaching, development, work assignments, performance management, goals and objectives, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Conducts Stores Department meetings as required to discuss problems and disseminate information on new procedures and material items.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • A High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • An associate’s degree or additional related specialized/technical training is preferred.
