Water Resources Engineering Intern – Gainesville, VA – Summer 2027

A housing bonus may be available for eligible candidates.

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of water quality modeling, wastewater modeling, and water quality regulatory issues.
• Knowledge of floodplain delineation, storm water management, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and drainage design.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office software.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Not eligible for work‑authorization sponsorship.

Salary Range: $17.75/hour – $28.75/hour (may vary with skills, experience, location, and market conditions).

Summer Intern Program

Interns gain hands‑on project experience, develop technical skills, and apply classroom knowledge to real projects. Interns are assigned meaningful work and receive opportunities similar to those of full‑time employees.

Interns participate in:

• Networking with other interns, staff, and senior leaders.
• Learning about the firm’s services, projects, and clients.
• Professional development workshops, including career planning and a DiSC assessment.
• Summer‑long group projects with firm leaders to address strategic issues.
