OVERVIEW:NOVEC is seeking candidates for full-time and part-time paid engineering internships for summer 2027. The position will be on-site in Gainesville, VA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Other related duties may be assigned. An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and effectively. Reasonable accommodation may be available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Examine trends, events and adverse conditions on NOVEC's electric system
- Perform routine calculations and studies under the direction of an engineer or designer
- Perform field visits and verify existing conditions/status
- Develop and review material standards
- Complete engineering economics based reviews of designs and standards
- Other duties/projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Circuits II and Physics II courses
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in engineering or graduate degree in an ABET accredited program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or after
- Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Power Systems Analysis
- Successful completion of Electromagnetics
Desire to pursue a career in the energy industry

Additional Information- Base Pay $27.00 / Hourly; $28.00 /Hourly for returning interns
