Senior Project Manager/Assistant Branch Manager
Dewberry’s Gainesville, VA office is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Assistant Branch Manager who will assist the Business Unit Manager (BUM) in the strategic development, growth, and overall operational performance of the business unit.
The successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer with a diverse background and a proven track record in management and financial responsibilities. The candidate will have demonstrated expertise in managing and motivating multidisciplinary teams, developing and executing client and business‑development strategies that drive revenue and profit margin growth, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Grow diverse architectural and engineering services through leadership and coordination of business‑development efforts across all Dewberry services and market segments.
- Mobilize, energize, and organize cross‑functional teams for success in winning and delivering complex projects.
- Act as a strategic thinker, bringing market‑facing ideas, strategies, and expertise to decision‑making and planning.
- Motivate to achieve business goals while investing in long‑term growth and stability.
- Ensure all operational activities conform to quality, health and safety, legal compliance, and general policies and procedures.
- Build strong relationships with decision makers in public agencies and/or private entities in the Southern Virginia region.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineering License in Virginia.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a consulting engineer, including work with clients and projects in Prince William County.
- Thorough understanding of the Northern Virginia market and strong relationships with decision makers in public agencies and private entities.
- Politically astute.
- Strategic development and problem‑solving skills; goal‑driven and energized by challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong communicator, motivator, and influencer.
- Ability to serve as Project Manager on significant projects.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong trusting relationships.
- Ability to recruit, select, and develop staff.
