Role Description The Mobile Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Gainesville, VA, responsible for performing maintenance and repair services on a variety of fleet vehicles. In this position, the technician conducts diagnostics, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs in the field, ensuring safe, reliable operation of vehicles and equipment. Daily tasks include performing scheduled and preventive maintenance, completing DOT and state inspections as required, and documenting all work performed in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
The Mobile Technician interacts with clients on-site, providing clear communication about repair status, timelines, and recommendations, while maintaining a professional and safety-focused work environment. The role may also assist with emergency service calls, support continuous improvement in repair processes, and collaborate with team members to meet service deadlines.
Qualifications
- Strong Maintenance & Repair skills with hands-on experience servicing and repairing fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance, including inspections, scheduled services, and adherence to DOT and state requirements.
- Effective Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and represent the company professionally on-site.
- Capability to provide Training or guidance to team members or clients on basic maintenance and safe equipment use.
- Relevant certifications such as ASE or state inspection licenses; vocational or technical training in automotive or diesel technology is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate and work from service vehicles safely.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work independently in varying outdoor and field conditions.
