Accounting (75%) /Payroll (15%) /HR (10%)

Columbia Engineering firm is seeking a full-time (in-person) Financial Accounting and Payroll. Duties include accounting 75% of the time, payroll 15% of the time, and HR duties 10% of the time.

Accounting (75% of the time)/Payroll (15% of the time):

• Create, review, and maintain accounting records.
• Run financial reports.
• Oversee A/P administrative staff.
• Reconcile employee monthly expenses.
• Organize end-of-year financials and prepare accounting reports to send to the CPA firm.
• Reconcile bank statements.

Human Resources (10% of the time):

• Onboarding New Hires
• Payroll Manager using ADP Workforce Now
• Familiar with payroll compliance and processing
• Process H.S.A. funding
• 401K Administrator
• File required ERISA documents.
• Responsible for renewals of healthcare and dental care coverage for employees.
• Professional liability insurance renewals.
• Worker’s compensation insurance renewals.
• Business liability insurance renewals.

Experience with the following duties is a plus:

• Knowledge of corporate taxes in multiple states
• Knowledge of payroll taxes in multiple states
• Managing Business Records
• File business registrations in states and other local jurisdictions; track and maintain business renewals.
• Oversee insurance renewals for the business.
• Issue 1099s for contractors and subcontractors.

• Attention to detail and accuracy required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Skilled in Excel and Data Entry, Sage experience a plus
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated with a proven ability to learn quickly
• Ability to meet timelines and deadlines

Base salary commensurate with experience.

Eligible for bonus based on company profitability.
