The Staff Accountant supports core accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing, within a publicly traded environment. This role ensures accurate, timely financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX, contributes to the month-end close process, and partners cross-functionally to resolve financial matters. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, ownership-driven approach.

• Support accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, Billing) for a publicly traded company, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial functions.
• Prepare GL journal entries and account reconciliations in support of the month-end close process.
• Review customer credit terms, assist with collection of overdue customer receivables and record AR transactions.
• Setup vendors and review and confirm accuracy of procurement and expense reporting transactions within the Concur Accounts Payable and Expense Management platform.
• Communicate with other departments on accounting and financial matters.
• Correspond with customers and vendors, as needed, to resolve issues.
• Miscellaneous clerical and other functions, as assigned.

• Hybrid role based in Gaithersburg, MD
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience (public or corporate) with increasing responsibility
• Experience working in automated accounting systems
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance
• Applies strong analytical thinking and attention to detail to solve problems and drive accuracy
• Communicates with clarity, precision, and purpose
• Takes ownership and drives work forward without waiting for direction

Expected salary range: $70,, depending on experience and qualifications.
