Senior Accountant

Montgomery County, MD | In-Office | $90,000–$110,000

A growing, PE-backed company in the commercial services space is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a lean, high-performing finance team. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership of the month‑end close, direct exposure to M&A integration activity, and a clear path to Accounting Manager for the right candidate.

• Own month‑end close responsibilities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
• Maintain and improve balance sheet reconciliation process.
• Support acquisition accounting and opening balance sheet review.
• Partner with leadership to elevate documentation standards and drive process improvement.
• Provide analytical support to FP&A as needed.

• Public accounting background required; audit focus preferred.
• 4+ years of total experience; true senior‑level tenure in accounting required.
• Hands‑on GL experience: journal entries, reconciliations, active close participation.
• Process improvement orientation — strong documentation instincts needed.
• Ambitious and growth‑minded; this role is not suited for a career senior accountant.
