Unit Clerk

Overview

• Serves as communication coordinator for assigned neighborhood; answers telephones, pages calls, retrieves/delivers messages
• Maintains medical records of each resident on the unit, thins medical records according to policy
• Assists with ensuring labs are completed as ordered and the lab book is up-to-date
• Assists residents in scheduling transportation and/or PDA for appointments in accordance with facility process/policy; keeps neighborhood appointment calendar up to date, and communicates pending appointments to nursing staff so residents are ready
• Assists on unit by answering resident call lights, transporting residents on the unit, and assisting with resident mealtime
• Maintains unit census, keeps unit roster and all daily assignments up to date
• Prepares new admission charts/delivers discharged charts to medical records
• Ensure office supplies available for unit staff
• Assists with charging/maintaining SARA phones

• High school diploma or GED equivalency, required
• GNA license in the state of Maryland, preferred
• One (1) year related experience, preferred
