Administrative Specialist III – Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing
The Maryland Department of Labor is accepting applications for an Administrative Specialist III position. The role provides administrative support to the Executive Director and members of the Maryland Board of Individual Tax Preparers and other boards.

- Provide administrative support for the Executive Director and Maryland Board of Individual Tax Preparers.
- Maintain files for the Board of Individual Tax Preparers and act as main point of contact.
- Conduct audits of continuing education certificates for the Maryland Board of Public Accountancy, the Maryland Board of Individual Tax Preparers, and the Maryland Board of Foresters.
- Respond to telephone, e‑mail, and in‑person inquiries regarding all board matters including Secondhand Precious Metal Objects Dealers and Pawnbrokers.
- Enter and update information in the computer AS400 system.
- Record and prepare minutes at Board meetings.
- Complete deposits for the four boards listed.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or high school equivalency certificate.
- Two years of administrative, clerical, or secretarial work experience.
- Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non‑commissioned officer involving staff work requiring independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience.
- Current Maryland Department of Labor employee.
- Experience with the Maryland Board of Individual Tax Preparers.
- Experience with AS400.
- Experience working with professional licensing.
- Medical and dental coverage.
