Introduction
The Maryland Department of Labor is seeking a qualified candidate for the Administrative Officer II position within the Office of General Services. This role provides administrative and operational support for facilities and leasing projects, working closely with the Leasing Manager, vendors, stakeholders, and procurement staff.
Main Purpose of JobThe primary purpose is to coordinate, track, and document facilities and leasing projects. Responsibilities include reviewing proposals, verifying invoices, coordinating equipment installation, monitoring requisition routing, communicating project timelines and cost updates, and preparing status reports for program managers.
Position Duties- Lease & Facilities Support:
Provide administrative support for coordinating and tracking field office leases, renewals, and space acquisitions; maintain lease documentation; monitor key dates and deadlines; assist with record organization related to facility repairs, improvements, and occupancy changes; support communication among landlords, contractors, program staff, telecommunications, and IT. - Relocation & Project Administrative Support:
Assist with administrative coordination for agency relocation and facility‑related projects by organizing schedules, maintaining project documentation, and tracking action items and milestones; prepare meeting materials, document notes, coordinate meetings with internal divisions and external partners, and maintain organized project files.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- Two years of administrative staff or professional work.
- 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute one year of the required experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree may substitute the required experience.
- U.S. Armed Forces military service as a commissioned officer involving independent judgment and analysis may substitute the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FMIS (Financial Management Information System).
- Experience with Workday.
- Experience with Google Workspace.
- Experience coordinating with cross‑functional teams, including setting timelines, tracking progress, and delivering results.
Employees may be required to operate a motor vehicle; a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in Maryland is required for such duties.
Special RequirementsAll candidates are subject to a background check to determine whether any monies are owed to the Division of Unemployment Insurance as a result of unemployment over payment or fraud. Unpaid debt may affect employment eligibility.
