Overview

Under the direction of the school principal, this role plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students in special programs such as medical careers, global ecology, magnet, middle years IB, and more. The teacher creates an atmosphere conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development, ensuring success for every student.

• Supervise students in a variety of school‑related settings.
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
• Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
• Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

• Spanish bilingual/biliterate proficiency required.
• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, MCPS policies, and effective instructional practices.
• Understanding of the teaching/learning process and ability to infuse technology into curriculum.
• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
• Maryland state certification in the appropriate field of education.
