Adjunct Faculty – Computer Science

WPI is seeking part‑time adjunct faculty to teach day, evening, and/or online classes for the Department of Computer Science. Positions will be filled on an as‑needed basis with start dates varying by course and semester.

Job Description

The role may require teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on campus, off campus in a corporate setting, or online. Courses include Foundations of Computer Science, Algorithms, Software Engineering, Object‑Oriented Design, Interface Design, Artificial Intelligence, and introductory computer science courses emphasizing program design in languages such as Racket/Scheme, Python, Java, and C/C++.

The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and possess significant practical experience and prior teaching experience. Abilities to teach in other areas are also valued.

  • Advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Significant practical experience in one or more of the areas listed.
  • Successful undergraduate or graduate teaching experience.
  • Ability to teach a range of courses.
Compensation

Compensation: $7,500 – $7,850 per course.
