Job Description SummaryPart‑time adjunct faculty pool in Art to fill opportunities on a course‑by‑course basis as need arises.
Job DescriptionThe Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part‑time adjunct faculty to teach Art. WPI’s Art faculty teach introductory courses, intermediate class, advanced technique seminars, and capstone practicums. The Art curriculum emphasizes visual arts (drawing, painting, and modeling); art and architectural history; digital imaging and computer art; animation and game design, and video production.
ResponsibilitiesTeach courses in the Art curriculum, including introductory, intermediate, advanced, and capstone courses. Develop and deliver course content, assessments, and instructional materials. Adapt to existing curriculum and employ creative and critical pedagogical approaches.
QualificationsHold a terminal degree such as an MFA or Ph.D. in an appropriate field. Demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility. Ability to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches. Experience with visual arts, digital imaging, animation, or related areas is desirable.

$6,000 per course.
