This position is primarily responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Elementary After School Program, a series of free out-of-school-time recreation and enrichment programs and activities that operate from September through May for youth in grades 1 through 5. The programs are held directly after school, and activities include arts and crafts, indoor recreation, and outdoor supervised play. The position will also provide support to the Summer Camp Team when program focus shifts from school year to summer programming, including supervising camp programs as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be positive, creative, and resourceful and bring a fresh perspective to assist in growing and improving existing youth programming while developing and launching new programs. You must have experience planning, scheduling, and implementing a wide variety of youth programming, including developing programming for elementary school aged participants (6 to 11 years old) and summer camp programs. Previous experience working with children with disabilities is desirable.

The position requires extensive public contact and experience in youth and community outreach, engagement, and inclusion, particularly with underserved populations.

Must have strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, time, staff, and resource management skills, and experience developing and managing/monitoring program budgets. Must be able to take on a variety of responsibilities, juggle multiple tasks, and work effectively independently and as part of the team. The ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is desirable. Customer service inside and outside the organization must be a top priority, with special emphasis on the delivery of quality programs to the public.

Starting salary for this position is negotiable within the target hiring range ($71,000 - $79,000) and will be offered at a level consistent with the relevant experience and qualifications of the candidate.
