We are seeking a detail‑driven, technically fluent Engineering Project Manager to support the execution of a large, multi‑year government program involving multi‑discipline engineering, strict configuration control, and AS9100‑enhanced processes.
Position SummaryThe Engineering Project Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day project execution, milestone tracking, and tactical customer communication for a major government contract. You will coordinate integration activities across hardware, firmware, systems, and test engineering teams; maintain lifecycle data in Infor PLM and Syte Line
; and ensure all project deliverables meet cost, schedule, technical, and compliance requirements.
This role is ideal for an engineering‑savvy project manager who thrives in structured government contract environments and can drive execution without losing sight of technical details.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning & Integration:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules covering all engineering disciplines. - Coordinate design reviews, integration checkpoints, and production readiness activities.
- Ensure alignment of engineering tasks with program requirements and contractual milestones.
- Serve as the primary customer contact for project‑level updates and day‑to‑day communication.
- Manage contract modifications, scope adjustments, deliverable impacts, and associated cost/schedule changes.
- Prepare and deliver formal reports, technical documentation, and compliance evidence required under government contracts.
- Maintain configuration integrity within Infor PLM and ensure BOM/routing accuracy within Syte Line ERP.
- Support requirements traceability, certificate packages, and other documentation required for government audits and contract deliverables.
- Track risks, issues, and dependencies across technical and schedule domains.
- Drive mitigation planning and follow‑through in partnership with engineering teams.
- Support root‑cause and corrective‑action activities, ensuring lessons learned feed back into future project phases.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of project management experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience with ERP/PLM systems—Infor PLM + Syte Line strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi‑year engineering projects.
Preferred
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
- Background supporting production transitions, integration testing, or system‑level engineering activities.
- Familiarity with government compliance documentation, contract data requirements, and configuration management best practices.
