The WorkAs a Systems Engineer you will apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases:
Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. You will interact with the Government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and resolve associated problems, issues or conflicts. You will communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives to ensure technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC 15288.
- Technical Process Area – Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal.
- Project Process Area – Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement.
- Enterprise (Organizational Project‑Enabling) Process Area – Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management.
- Agreement Process Area – Acquisition and Supply.
The Level 1 System Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:
- Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with ISO/IEC 15288.
- Strong experience in applying RF theoretical and academic knowledge in EMI testing unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum.
- Familiarity with RF tools (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and components (amplifiers, filters, isolators, attenuators, terminators, etc).
- Formulate and document test plans; draft and issue technical recommendations through formal test reports.
- Specify and/or review system and component technical performance requirements to ensure optimal functionality while meeting E3 noise electric field limit.
- Collaborate with internal and external agency stakeholders to ensure technical support enables the E3 Program and customer mission requirements.
- Must be able to travel 3 times per year for 7‑10 days at a time.
Must have TS/SCI with Poly.
A Bachelor’s degree in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus one (1) year of systems engineering experience.
Desired SkillsPreferred but not required to have experience in electromagnetic compatibility testing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and/or antenna calibration.
Clearance LevelTS/SCI w/Poly SP.
