Sr Mechanical Engineer- Gaithersburg, MD

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Mechanical Engineer IV to join a leading life sciences company located in Gaithersburg, MD through 100% onsite work. The Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and development of complex mechanical and electromechanical instrumentation, overseeing prototyping, testing, and cross-functional integration from concept through production.

Responsibilities:

* Lead mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of new instrumentation systems

* Oversee cross-functional teams supporting development of complex electromechanical products

* Develop requirements, specifications, and design control documentation

* Manage test protocols, manufacturing fixtures, and production support activities

* Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to source, qualify, and integrate components

Qualifications:

* 15+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience

* Strong experience with CAD tools (Solid Works, Pro/E, or similar), GD&T, and manufacturing processes (machining, molding, sheet metal)

* Experience with electromechanical system integration, thermal management, and precision mechanisms

* Experience in ISO/FDA cGMP regulated environments

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's or PhD preferred)

Compensation:

* Salary Range: $115,000 - $177,000 (depending on experience)
