Location: Johns Hopkins University, Whiting School of Engineering, Office of Research and Translation
Salary: $89,000
Overview: This position is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Professional Research Experience Program (PREP). The role focuses on developing traceable standards for 5G, 6G, and beyond, utilizing finite element simulations, programming, network analysis, dimensional metrology, and on‑wafer and resonator methods to validate the authenticity of integrated circuits and materials.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate stakeholder engagement to understand industry needs and provide regular updates to solicit feedback.
- Design, simulate, and assemble on‑wafer electronics for mmWave test and measurement.
- Design, simulate, and assemble resonator methods for mmWave test and measurement.
- Perform all measurements and analysis once the measurement systems are integrated.
- Develop and carry out on‑wafer metrology in coordination with NIST researchers.
- PhD in Materials Science Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience with microelectronic fabrication.
- Experience with programming in MATLAB and Python.
- Experience with finite element simulations in ANSYS or COMSOL.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship preferred.
