Job Overview
Engineer II, Mechanical - Hybrid. This hybrid position requires onsite work in Towson, MD, at least 3 days per week.
Location:
Towson, MD, United States.
- Successfully support the design process to achieve all quality, performance, schedule, and cost objectives in a cross‑functional environment.
- Perform hands‑on concept development, prototyping, product testing, data collection, and definition of product specifications.
- Carry out stack‑ups and system analysis to ensure product assembly and functionality remain consistent throughout the product lifetime.
- Investigate design issues and test failures, identify, recommend, and implement corrective actions to components.
- Construct 3D models to evaluate design options.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Product Marketing, Reliability, Field Research) to identify and define customer requirements and develop tests to duplicate end‑user tasks.
- Work in a core team of 3‑4 engineers/designers to develop a product from start to finish, ensuring appropriate documentation is created and maintained for component designs and engineering test results.
- Support the builds of engineering, manufacturing, and pilot lots to ensure products are assembled and tested correctly for long‑term quality.
- Support the engineering process for all engineering requirements to deliver a product that meets our history of guaranteed tough products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1 to 3 years of experience.
- Computer literate: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, 2D/3D CAD, and FEA.
- Ability to dissect a problem to find root cause and create a solution that addresses the issue.
- Experience with statistical tools, process capability, DOE, stack‑ups, and GD&T.
- Coordinated internal resources for testing and analysis.
- Experience in fast‑paced design cycles (average 2 years) and dynamic work environments.
- Possible international travel to visit manufacturing locations.
