Job Description
We are inviting applications for the role of Controller based near Jessup, Maryland. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee and handle the operations of our accounting department, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and contributing to budgeting and strategic planning processes.
Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of our accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and present financial statements and reports in a timely manner to management, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Be responsible for the company's budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and strategic planning.
- Manage cash flow, including monitoring, forecasting, and reporting.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial performance and efficiency, staying updated on industry trends, financial regulations, and best practices.
- Possession of a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a necessity for data management and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in Controllership to ensure proper adherence to company financial policies.
- Sound knowledge and experience in Asset Inventory management to maintain accurate records of company assets.
- Proven ability in the implementation of financial systems, strategies, and controls to ensure the financial health of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is mandatory.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage the finance team and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of accounting software and database management for efficient and organized data handling.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
