Manager of Investments, Distributed Solar & Storage

A leading renewable energy owner, operator, and developer of distributed generation, commercial solar, community solar, and solar-plus-storage assets across the United States.

The Manager, Investments will lead the financial evaluation and underwriting of distributed generation investment opportunities. This role is responsible for valuation, due diligence, investment recommendations, and supporting transaction execution from initial assessment through closing.

• Build and oversee asset level and portfolio-wide valuation tools for prospective C&I solar, community solar, and battery storage opportunities, incorporating downside cases, alternative assumptions, and jurisdiction-specific incentive structures
• Enhance underwriting templates and risk screening materials used to evaluate transactions, monitor portfolio performance, and support executive and board level decision making
• Coordinate with Business Development, Policy, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to validate commercial, regulatory, operational, and technical inputs
• Develop clear investment memoranda and presentation materials for review by the investment committee and Board of Directors
• Participate in transaction diligence from initial sourcing through financing and notice-to-proceed readiness, including purchase-price adjustments and other closing-related reconciliations
• Guide and develop junior team members, promoting strong analytical standards, accountability, and effective collaboration
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve analytical tools, and automate recurring processes

• 6+ years of experience evaluating renewable energy investments, project finance transactions, or infrastructure investments within the distributed generation sector, with commercial and industrial (C&I) and/or community solar experience strongly preferred
• Advanced financial modeling capabilities, including the ability to structure, modify, and analyze complex project finance models and investment scenarios
• Solid knowledge of renewable energy capital structures, including tax equity, debt financing, and other project funding mechanisms
• Working knowledge of community solar regulations, incentive programs, and evolving policy frameworks across multiple U.S. markets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analyses to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience evaluating or supporting distributed battery energy storage system (BESS) projects is a plus
• Ability to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
