Direct Support Professional

Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) in Gaithersburg, MD is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. • Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and other activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Support individuals in community integration, vocational activities, and social skill development
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
• Transport and accompany clients to appointments, activities, and community outings
• Administer medications and monitor health conditions per established protocols
• Collaborate with supervisors, case managers, and family members to ensure quality person-centered care

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
• Valid driver s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Genuine commitment to advocating for and empowering individuals with disabilities
