Linux Systems Administrator

Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and related processes. Supports day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Offers Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier II (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution. Provides support for escalation, communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Supports dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process.

Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems, installs/loads OS software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components, and implements OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

• One (1) year experience in Linux, Unix, Windows or Cisco OS operating system
• Two (2) years’ experience administering Linux, Unix or Windows Operating System (U/FOUO)
• Two (2) years’ experience supporting applications in the SIGINT environment
• One (1) year experience installing software packages such as ISO and Red Hat package managers (rpm)

• One (1) year experience configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and administering a messaging service (e.g., Java Messaging Service, TIBCO, Active
  
  MQ, Artemis, Kafka)
• DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification is required, normally fulfilled with Security+.
