Summary
NIST is seeking a Lead Technical Authority and an architect for NCCoE's video collaboration ecosystem. Responsibilities include directing the secure integration of Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet; managing Teams-certified hardware life cycles, configuration profiles, and interoperability; spearheading R&D for AI‑driven platform components; serving as the primary technical liaison for A&A processes, ensuring NIST and federal compliance; and overseeing training and knowledge bases for staff.
Responsibilities- Act as an Audiovisual Platform and Meeting Specialist, providing video meeting hardware endpoint support, software support, and real‑time in‑person support of video meeting solutions.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure video conferencing hardware for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet.
- Install and integrate Microsoft Teams‑certified hardware in support of hybrid and in‑person meetings held by a cybersecurity applied research center.
- Evaluate new software, hardware, and platform components that support video meetings requested by a cybersecurity applied research center.
This notice is issued under direct‑hire authority to recruit new talent for occupations with a severe shortage of candidates. Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS‑12 level (ZP‑III at NIST).
- Configuring and installing Microsoft Teams‑certified audiovisual conferencing equipment.
- Designing room systems and integrating them with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
- Diagnosing software, hardware, and network deficiencies reported by video meeting participants.
- Providing training and documentation on room features.
- Establishing a monitoring system for conference rooms to proactively triage network and video issues.
- Experience may include paid, unpaid, or volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other relevant organizations. Volunteer work is credited towards qualifying experience.
