Systems Administrator Linux SME

Join GDIT as a Systems Administrator Linux SME on a long‑standing Prime contract supporting a mission‑critical environment. You will maintain Linux systems, enhance stability, and provide technical leadership.

• Install, configure, manage, and maintain Linux systems, including virtualization platforms and cloud environments.
• Determine network specifications, troubleshoot network issues, and ensure compatibility with hardware/software.
• Implement security measures, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with customer security policies in coordination with the ISSO.
• Collaborate with software developers and IT stakeholders to support system integration, patch workflows, and maintenance activities.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to reduce manual effort and increase operational efficiency.
• Perform patch management, including software updates, patches, and upgrades, validating functionality and compatibility.
• Create and update system documentation such as configurations, processes, and procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• SME‑level proficiency with Linux operating systems.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
• US citizenship.
• Experience with virtual machines, Thin Clients, switches, and network responsibilities.

• Hands‑on experience with AWS.

Location:

USA MD Annapolis Junction. Travel: none. Telecommuting: onsite. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Salary range: $170,000‑$230,000 (dependent on experience, location, and contractual requirements).
