Our client seeks an Information Systems Engineer who will serve as the contract’s primary security point of contact at APG, MD. The role requires hands‑on leadership across configuration management, secure software lifecycle practices, and implementation of DEVSECOPS methods. The engineer will support design reviews, audits, and baseline control while enabling zero trust, hardened platforms, and containerized deployments.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Top Secret clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $55.00 to $70.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities- Serve as the overall security point of contact for the contract with full-time onsite presence at APG, MD.
- Write Configuration Management (CM) Plans and audit software change procedures, development, testing, and documentation for compliance with CM plans and procedures.
- Participate in design reviews, configuration audits, and software product evaluations to ensure identification, control, and status accounting of software baselines.
- Leverage CM tools such as JIRA, Puppet, Confluence, and Git Hub, including scripting to automate workflows.
- Implement CM processes within a DEVSECOPS and Agile development environment.
- Hardening Linux systems.
- Network segmentation design and implementation.
- Zero Trust principles and practices.
- Penetration testing.
- Containerization technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Infrastructure as code tools.
- Seven years of experience within the last nine years.
- Appropriate computing environment certification and IASAE specialty qualification per DoD 8570.01-M and Army IA Training and Certification Best Business Practice.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another engineering or technical discipline with an Information Security or Cyber Security concentration. Experience may substitute for the degree when combined with full Information Assurance certification per AR 25-2 and IA Training BBP. Active TS/SCI required.
